BIRT Interactive Viewer Component
Overview
The BIRT Interactive Viewer component is a web based viewer for BIRT reports that enables an end user to interact with, and create new personalized views of a report. The Interactive Viewer component is deployed into existing web applications or as a standalone web applicaiton and does not require anything to be installed on a user’s desktop. The Actuate Interactive Viewer will work with reports designed in any of the BIRT designers including the open source BIRT designers, Actuate BIRT designers and the web based BIRT Report Studio desginer. The Actuate Interactive Viewer allows an end user to:
- Reorder, Hide, Merge and Remove Columns
- Create Calculations and Summaries
- Sort, Group and Ungroup Data
- Defining Headers, Labels and Page Breaks
- Data Formatting
- Conditional Formatting
- Filter Chart Data
- Change Chart Formatting
- Change Chart Subtype
The BIRT Interactive Viewer also allows developers to leverage a comprehensive AJAX-based JavaScript library that enables integration of BIRT report content with virtually any web front end. This JavaScript API (JSAPI) also allows developers to build and control report interativity.
