  1. Inserting images - won't export in excel

    Posted 29 Nov 2012

Hello, using the Spreadsheet Designer v11SP4, I cannot seem to get any image I insert to make it to the exported XLSX file.

    It's pretty easy to reproduce:

Start with a new SOD file, add an image, click preview. It shows up in the Spreadsheet Designers embedded view/tab just fine. If I click the "export to xls" button in the designer it shows up. If you click the "export to xlsx" button however - it does not.

If i use the free spreadsheet engine to export/build the SOD file the results are the same. XLS export I can get it to show up - XLSX I cannot.

All of my reports are in XLSX right now due to row constraints on XLS. I'd much like to find a way to add some graphics to them. Maybe there's something simple I'm missing here? Some silly/stupid step i'm overlooking. I'd have to imagine this kind of basic functionality works, and i'm just not doing something right.

I originally had v11SP2 and it had the same bug - except when exporting to XLS excel would report there was an error with the report and it forced protected view mode. It looks like they fixed that in sp4 - but the xlsx image still doesn't work.

Please help any suggestions at all, or at least confirm the same bug happens to you.

    Thanks!
