Hi,

I'll evaluating Actuate BIRT iServer 11. When I try to schedule a task the "Send me an email notification with" is greyed out. I want to evaluate this to see if I can attached a generate report and send to a number of email addresses. Is this possible?

The functionality I require are:

1. Schedule a BIRT report and attach and send it as an email preferable in CSV format.

2. Run a BIRT report manually which generates a CSV file which can then be ftp'd or emailed.

Appreciate your help,

MArtin

Martin,

Just so I am up to speed with where you are at, could you respond to the following questions?

- Have you set up the SMTP information in the Configuration Console (http://server:8900/acadmin/config/ by default)
- Were you attempting to perform this from the Management Console (http://server:8900/acadmin/ by default) or by Information Console (http://server:8900/iportal/ for the default installed IC)

When running a BIRT report (synchronous or asynchronous), you can convert the resulting rptdocument to a different format. For asynchronous reports, you have the ability to set it to output Excel format, PDF, AFP, PS, Word, and PowerPoint formats. The same is available for sending as an attachment to an email as well.

When running it synchronously, you have the ability to export the report data to a format of your choosing from a similar list which will be saved on the HDD or other writable location on the end user machine.

With some more information, I am sure you can find the solution that you are looking for.
