Hi, I am new to BirtOnDemand.

We would like to develop interactive reports using BirtOnDemand. Can you please suggest me.

I have studied in actuate website that we need to upload our data to Amazon RDS to make available to reports.

Our client don't like to upload their data to Amazon RDS.

Can we have our data in local Database instead of uploading data in Amazon RDS and use in reports.

Thanks
NaveeN

It is not necessary for you, or your client to upload data to Amazon RDS to use BIRT onDemand.

BIRT onDemand has the ability for BIRT Design executables, or BIRT Data Object designs to use the local database as a data source, as long as your inbound firewall rules allow access from BIRT onDemand to the local database. The data transfer speed will be limited by your client's network bandwidth to BIRT onDemand.

Another option is to generate the BIRT Designs, and/or Data Objects locally, and then upload them to BIRT onDemand so no additional database traffic will occur.
