We are thinking about Birt onDemand, and looked at all stuff and we think it fullfils our needs.
But there is one thing. We want to use it most on iPads and iPhones, but also on PCs and other mobile devices.

On mobile devices there are some problems with flash, so do we need it or we can use reports based od SVG?

In my opinion, you can render the BIRT reports and charts on mobile devices without flash too.

I will wait for the experts to throw more light on this for you.

There's no restriction in saying you must use flash. You can use normal static chart in your birt report and deploy to bod.

Thanks. Do you mean we can also use interactive charts - for example for drilldown? I think those are using javascript?

I am assuming you are using Actuate BIRT Report Designer Pro because you were referring to Flash. You can still do the usual stuff such scripting within the report.

Yes, but get ready to do a whole lot of programming to add those features. BIRT as a platform can do those things no problem. The open source BIRT won't do those things out of the box. You have to build them yourself. BIRT OnDemand doesn't use Flash to do report customizations, I don't believe. It only uses Flash for Flash Charts. The Interactive Viewer is based on Javascript from what I remember.
