Hello all,

I am using oracle 10g database, whenever i do changes in column name, i have to change my dataset and perform the drag and drop of dataset fields to my report.
i have 240 fields to drag and drop every time if any changes done.

so, is there any solution which do automatic changes in dataset as well set in report ?

Thanks,
Sunil

Hi Sunil,
If you are using Actuate BIRT, one option would be to use Information Objects. Information Objects provides meta data abstraction layer, you would only need to update your data definitions there without changing your report design. Information Object designer comes with Actuate BIRT Designer professional.

Forgot to mention that all your eclipse BIRT designs will work in Actuate BIRT without any changes. If you are planning to stick with Eclipse BIRT, your other option could be using views.
