Hi

I followed the instructions given in the install guide of Open Forecaster Integrator app in showcase.

The only instruction that I found a bit unclear is the deployment of the jars.

Where are the BIRTForecaster.jar and OpenForecaster.jar supposed to be placed on the iServer?

Here is the error I get:

An exception occurred during processing. Please see the following message for details:
A BIRT exception occurred: Error evaluating Javascript expression. Script engine error: TypeError: [JavaPackage com.actuate.data.forecast.BIRTForecaster] is not a function, it is object. (#1)
Script source: , line: 0, text:

Please help me.

Srividya,

You'll need Information Objects developed and deployed on your iServer. These will be executed by the BIRTForecaster. For the jar's to do their job, deploy the BIRTForecaster.jar & OpenForecast-0.4.0.jar to the iServer Resources folder and grant the “All” role rights to both files.

I would stick with the simple example data to first make sure that your "environment specific" attributes are set correctly from the parameters.

Let me know if this helps,

Ralph G

Hi Ralph,

Yes, I have deployed Information Object on the iServer.

I have also placed the jars in Resources folder and granted all rights to these files.

I am just trying the forecast sample that came with the download.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Srividya Sharma

Srividya,

Lets start with the "Observed" data and the IO you've deployed.
Can you preview the data? For example and create a query on the IO in iServer and tell me if you can view the data.

If you can, then you'll need to create a simple report against the IO and again make sure you can see the "Observed" data in the simple report.

This is the step to separate the problem between the IO / Source Data and the Forecaster Jar.

Let me know how this works...

Thanks,

Ralph G

Hi Ralph,

Can you explain how the Forecaster works?

What do I need to provide to the Forecaster and what it gives in return?

Does it have a bit of documentation of the classes and usage?

Do I neccessarily need Information Object to work with this?

Thanks
