Hi

I am trying to find the best way to represent a hierarchy in a BIRT report.

Basically, I have data which has id and parentId.
I want to show all the parents up in the tree(stop, when parentId is null) and children of a particular id.

Can you help me out?

Thanks

Hi Srividya,
You could use nested tables and in the detail rows put grids to make colored backgrounds. The outer table would be parents and inner children. Look at the attached example.
