BIRT Exchange Forum: BIRT Exchange Forum -> Happy New Year from BIRT Exchange

2011 was a great year for BIRT and BIRT Exchange. We saw many outstanding DevShare contributions from the community, met a number of BIRT enthusiasts at conferences and trade shows and enjoyed speaking to you on the forums, at user groups and through e-mail. More and more developers are joining the fun of answering each others' questions on the forums too which really helps BIRT Exchange work.

We started a Community Leaderboard to honor the top contributors to BIRT Exchange and it's been fun to see who gets listed each month!

The BIRT User Groups (BUGs) met several times during 2011 attracting scores of BIRT enthusiasts to listen to talks by BIRT evangelists and other BIRT experts. Please let me know if you are interested in starting a BUG in your area.

BIRT Roadshows were a big hit with developers who received free hands-on training in dozens of sessions held worldwide over the last twelve months and 2012 is shaping up for more of the same. We had our largest Roadshow ever in Bangalore, India with over 700 attendees! Check out the schedule for the first quarter Roadshows.

The two books, BIRT: A Field Guide to Reporting and its advanced companion, Integrating and Extending BIRT were both updated to the latest BIRT release and offered at a special discount to community members. The books are excellent references for both new and experienced BIRT developers.

The community really stepped up and made 15 submissions to the Get Started With BIRT plug-in contest. We salute all the participants and winners! We expect to run several more contests like this in 2012, so stay tuned to BIRT Exchange and/or subscribe to this blog to learn about the next one.

ActuateOne Live! was a big success too with visits to 6 cities across the world for more training and an in-depth look at what Actuate offers to BIRT users with ActuateOne.
