The winner of the BIRT Exchange Contributor of the Month Contest for November 2011 is Megha Nidhi Dahal for his contribution to BIRT Exchange titled: ISALLNULL Aggregate Function extension.
Megha said, "I created this extension during the Get Started With BIRT Contest period. Implementing my Excel ODA exposed me to a whole new type of development. It was my first time with eclipse plugin development and I was left amazed by the extensibility and flexibility of the framework. After finishing the ODA, I thought of implementing something which didn't demand as much effort and time. This extension function is a result of that exploration.
"I'll add the source code also as a resource to the DevShare entry very soon. I urge all BIRT Developers to go through the code just to realise how simple it is to implement such aggregate function extensions."
Megha works as a software developer at Subex in India and has been using BIRT for two years to build simple/complex reports and deployments. He was a recent winner of the Get Started With BIRT contest and a valued and frequent contributor to BIRT Exchange.
He chose a $200 Amazon Gift Card for his award.
It's not too late... to get your own DevShare article posted in time for next month's contest that closes on December 31st. If you"ve cooked up something that you can share with the BIRT Exchange community, please post it soon! You can create a tutorial, build a BIRT application, template or component, or write up some of the tips and solutions to problems you've run into during the past -- anything that's helped you use BIRT more effectively will probably be useful to others too. And don't forget the BIRT Exchange Marketplace. A code-based DevShare submission could also be a great candidate for the Marketplace.
See the Contributor of the Month Contest Rules and the list of previous winners for more information about the contest.
