This archived webinar will walk you through using BIRT's Design Engine API (DE API). The DE API is used by the BIRT designer to create the xml based report designs, libraries, and templates processed by the BIRT report engine. Creating new and modifying existing designs within a Java application will be demonstrated. In addition, the DE API can be called from within a BIRT report script environment to modify a report just prior to executing the design. An example of this scenario will be demonstrated.
