Default BIRT & Oracle Active Dataguard

Hi,

Does anyone know if BIRT can connect to a Read-Only datasource (like Oracle Active Dataguard Database)? My implementation will be using BIRT with IBM Maximo and I'm wondering where report audit info is held (who ran what, when) if the datasource is Read-Only. Does BIRT have it's own data repository? Thanks.

Dave.

Hi Dave, BIRT generally just reads from datasources. I don't know much about Oracle Active Dataguard, but it looks like you still connect with JDBC so I can't forsee a problem there.

As for auditing, open source BIRT out-of-the-box does not log who ran a particular report (commercial BIRT iServer does) so you will need to log this yourself from the application.
